Plate cassettes are welded together in an "accordion" pattern, producing a core
of up to 300 plates that is highly tolerant of thermal cycling stresses.

Optional flange cover allows for a removable plate
pack.

The Supermax
all-welded plate heat exchanger incorporates the benefits of plate and
frame exchangers without gaskets. |
| |
|
The Supermax
all-welded plate heat exchanger provides the thermal efficiency and
compactness of a plate and frame unit under conditions that would
ordinarily call for a shell and tube unit. |
| |
|
Designed for use with liquids,
gases and two phase mixtures at pressures to 1015 psig and at
temperatures up to 1,000 F, the Supermax
unit works well with aggressive media, such as organic solvents, steam
heaters and interchangers that are beyond the capability of a gasketed
unit. |
| |
|
The unit features a plate side
and a shell side, which offers high pressure ratings. It has alternating
channels for hot and cold media, and can offer true counter-current or
co-current flow. |
| |
|
Nozzle sizes up to 12" can
be accommodated on the shell side of the exchanger, offering higher
steam and liquid flow rates. Nozzles on the plate side can be up to
4". |
| |
|
The Supermax
unit can be fabricated from dissimilar metals when only one side will be
exposed to corrosive conditions. |
|
|
| Applications: |
high temp thermal oil processing
vegetable oil processing
high temperature interchanger |
heaters of organic chemicals
desuperheaters in heat recovery
evaporators and condensers |
|
|
| Advantages: |
Choice of material to suit application
Compactness,
offering considerable reduction in size and weight compared to a
shell-and-tube exchanger
Thermal
efficiency: significantly higher levels of heat transfer coefficient
Lower hold-up volume equals less volume of costly fluids |
